The Bauk dwells in pure darkness and is not to be messed with. Lurking in caves and other dank and decaying places, it waits for lost victims to stumble into its lair, then it pounces on and devours its victims whole.

While the creature is described as something akin to a bear, we do not have many clear descriptors for two reasons. First, its maw is so dark that it’s difficult to get a clear look at them, let alone photographic or video evidence. Second, barely anyone survives a Bauk attack.

When venturing into dark spaces, it’s worth noting that Bauks do come with a warning noise. If you hear a sound like scratching wood, it is likely coming from the creature’s claws as it scrambles towards you. The second you hear this sound, get out immediately.
