Lurking in rivers, the Vodyanoy is often blamed for local drownings. This squat, ghastly-looking creature has the body of an old man and the head of a frog, usually covered in slime and algae with webbed hands.
The Vodyanoy rides down the river on an old log, always trying to attract attention. If you haven't seen this odd frog-man, you’ll no doubt hear him splashing along on his log, making sure you know where he is. His motives for this behavior are unclear, but it is likely driven by narcissism.
While not always malicious, the Vodyanoy sometimes enjoys his journey downriver, smoking a pipe or watching the world go by. However, if angered, he can be responsible for destroying dams and water mills. If he successfully drowns someone, he sometimes stores the soul of his victim in a teapot, a truly dreadful way to spend eternity.
