Lurking near railroad tracks in Japan is Teke Teke, a spirit with only half a body, a sickle in her hand and vengeance in her heart. After being the victim of a prank and falling onto train tracks, Teke Teke was cut in two by an oncoming train. Now she roams the surrounding area and roads, seeking revenge for what was done to her.
Her name comes from the scratching noise made as she crawls on her elbows, dragging what remains of her torso behind her. This legless ghost might seem like one you can make a quick escape from, but be wary, she is surprisingly fast and there have even been reports of her catching up with those attempting to escape by car.
If she does catch her prey, that sickle comes in useful as she cuts people in half, copying her own horrific cause of death. Some say she does this in an attempt to steal her victims’ legs, but as she has gone after many people, we assume this is untrue as surely she would have stopped after the first? Unless she is collecting them as twisted souvenirs. More research is needed to be sure.
