Oshun is a Yoruba Orisha who is the goddess of water, purity, fertility, and love. She is the patron of the river Osun in Nigeria, which is named after her.

She is a beautiful and coy young woman and is seen adorned in gold jewelry and beads and carrying a fan. Her signature color is yellow, and she is regarded as a benevolent and merciful goddess.

However, that’s not to say she never shows her anger or sadness. As a water deity, Oshun is responsible for floods and droughts, making her both a creator and a destroyer.

Oshun is still an important deity to many women in West Africa today, not only as a fertility goddess but also as a protector of women. That is not to say she would refuse to support men, but you’re more likely to gain her favor if you are ready to embrace your femininity.
