Propping up the bar on the Bowery in New York is Ludwig the Bloodsucker. This strange little man has been described as a short gentleman of German heritage, and he is quite something to behold. With jet-black hair sticking up from his head, out of his ears, and even from his nose, unsightly does not even begin to describe him.
His reign of chaos came in the 19th century, where he frequented bars and targeted the drunk, the foolish, and those who got caught up in barroom brawls. Suspected of being a vampire, it was rumored that he would drink the blood of his victims. In fact, he was said to drink blood as eagerly as the bar patrons would drink beer or wine.
We recommend that if you’re in the New York area and are approached by a short, hairy man, keep your wits about you and don’t do anything rash. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you ask him, “What’s your poison?” and he responds with, “Something red and full-bodied.”
