Bluff Creek, famously featured in the Patterson-Gimlin footage, is known as the home of Bigfoot (or at least one sasquatch). The flickering footage, captured on October 20, 1967, shows a female sasquatch walking along the edge of Bluff Creek, swinging her arms in an iconic motion.
During the initial encounter, Patterson and Gimlin followed the sasquatch for a short time and recorded the famous footage. They also collected plaster molds of her footprints and estimated her height to be between 6 feet 6 inches and 7 feet tall, though this measurement has been contested in later interviews.
Reaching the film site can be quite challenging and should only be attempted by experienced trackers, rangers, and hikers. There's also the possibility that the area now hosts a whole family of sasquatches. While they are generally known to be timid, little is known about their behavior when confronted, so it's best not to intrude on their territory. Therefore, we recommend not going alone and bringing some bear spray with you.
