Living in the forests, the Huldra is a creature with a secret. Her name literally means "covered." She appears as a beautiful young woman with blonde hair but hides an animal tail and a back that is hollowed out like a tree. It is said that when they die, they turn into trees, and their eternal resting place is in the forest. There are several types of nature spirits similar to the Huldra, but this name specifically refers to the kind of spirit found in the woods.

We have read conflicting stories about the nature of the Huldra. In some tales, she is kind and helps humans, specifically by guiding them to the best places to fish or forage. However, in others, they are beautiful temptresses who try to lure men into the forest to drink their blood. They are said to be able to hypnotize men by dancing, and it is said that anyone who has sex with one will go mad shortly after. So, if you have an uncontrollable libido, it is probably best to avoid her, assuming, of course, that she is even interested in you in the first place, which might be a bit presumptuous.
