Dive into Eerie Worlds, the latest tactical collectible card game (CCG) where real horror and myth converge. Rooted in real-world folklore, mythology, and documented events, this game immerses you in a realm teeming with supernatural forces. Players wield the power to link worlds, set the rules of engagement, and command monstrous entities in fierce battles for control over mystical Rifts—gateways bridging our reality to the terrifying unknown.
In Eerie Worlds, you’ll build a deck of 10 cards. This includes 1 World card and 9 gods and monsters.
World cards steer the rules for the game but don’t get too cocky - your opponent will be playing their own World card too! You can only ever have 1 World card in your deck and you need 1 to complete your deck.
Your other cards consist of 4 rarities - Common, Rare, Epic and Fabled, each more powerful than the last. Rare, Epic and Fabled cards each have their own special ability which can help boost your cards and bolster your team.
Common cards don’t have an ability of their own but they will benefit from other cards in your deck so don’t count them out just yet!
While you have the freedom to build decks however you like, you may just find that you get the best boosts and support by building a deck made entirely from one Horde or Alliance. There really is strength in standing by your Alliance!
Each card has a Mana and Attack number. Mana is what it costs to play and Attack is how you’ll take control of the Rift.
You can see a card's ability by tapping on it while it’s in your hand in battle. Here you can also see any effects the card may be under and where that effect is coming from.
You can also view this information from within your Grimoire as you’re scrolling through your collection. Perfect for when you’re doing a bit of light studying and trying to concoct new combos and strategies.
You can find cards in a number of different ways in Eerie Worlds. You’ll get a starter deck to kick you off but once you’ve had a few fights, you’ll probably be desperate to start filling your Grimoire.
First stop to pick up some new cards is with the Merchant. Here you’ll find a selection of packs containing cards of different rarities and amounts. A great way to pick up something new or start building up on duplicates to upgrade (which we’ll come to soon.)
You can also find cards in the spinners, where you can spin the wheel and see where it lands! Here you’ll find Gold, Silver and cards from each Alliance.
Or, if you’ve been working hard, as you level up, you’ll receive XP Level Rewards. These contain all kinds of things including cards, Gold, Silver and even cosmetics.
While simply purchasing new cards might seem like the best way to strengthen your decks, there’s also another crucial step to adding bite to your battles. This is through upgrading your cards.
You can use duplicate cards to upgrade to the next level, thus making your cards look more monstrous and fiercer in a fight too.
Higher rarity cards will take longer to fully upgrade but between the bonus power, the extra XP you get for upgrading AND bragging rights, we think it’s worth it!
Battles last 9 turns, meaning that skirmishes are quick and fierce!
Each turn players will select up to 3 cards from a hand of 5 and place them on the battlefield as they try to generate enough Attack to take control of the Rift. Once a turn is over, cards will return to your deck and cycle back into your hand as you draw back up to 5 each time. So don’t worry, you will have chances to play cards again later in the game.
Choose your cards wisely because once they’re selected, they're locked in and the fight commences! You’re also on a timer so don’t wait too long to play a card.
Also keep in mind that you’ve only got a set amount of Mana to spend each turn and while you will get some of this back on the next turn, it’s always worth spending wisely.
The player in control of the Rift at the end of those 9 turns wins!
Now that you’ve grasped the very basics of battle, you’re ready to start your journey to becoming a true champion! Form a team of your greatest nightmares and get ready to fight!
