URGENT FOLLOW-UP REPORT

Strange activity has continued around the Rift with the most frightening event occurring today.

Rift Guardians noted that an item was thrown from the Rift through to our realm. There was no clue of what or who threw this but one of the Rift Guardians swore that they saw fingers grasping around the edge of the Rift, even if only for a brief moment.

The item was a small box, wrapped in worn and battered black paper. Around it was a blue ribbon, adorned with tarnished silver bells. One of our team carefully approached the box, unravelled the ribbon and tore off the paper. 

Inside was a small wooden casket.

Upon opening, it held a glass vial, containing an unusual liquid. When the cork was carefully prized off, a puff of purple smoke rose into the air and you could have sworn it formed the shape of a skull before dissipating.

A hypnotic trance held our investigator and it was only when another team member shook them that they dropped the vial. As it hit the ground and shattered, the toxic fluid hissed and sizzled as it ate away at the ground beneath.

From within the rift, something monstrous cried out and another flurry of snow swept towards the team.

Something very bad is happening here…
