Greetings Champions,
A new League is here so let’s take a look at the rules and get some handy tips from our field agents on what to look out for this week. This isn't going to be a race to the highest score like last week so be prepared to get strategic and tactical, especially when it comes to Zerrofel.
Friend Requests and Friend Games Update:
A very quick update before we start. We're aware of some gremlins in the system with Friends at the moment. You may not have received notifications for friend requests so if you tap the Invites tab on the Friends List screen, you might find a whole new monster squad, waiting to join your side.
We're also aware of an issue with Friend Games and the team are working hard to rectify this.
Thank you for your patience and enjoy finally having friends at last. We promise they've not just been ignoring you (well, maybe some of them have).

Alliances:
With Grimbald being one half of this week’s spotlight, this will be Cryptozoology’s chance to shine. We can’t wait to see you get stuck in with lower cost yet incredibly useful cards like the Jackalope and there are also useful cards like The Maryland Goatman offering a Mana reduction to your Common Cryptozoology cards.
We’ve seen a lot of love for Greek with our players so far so expect to see lots of decks centered around Hades or Hecate this week. Or, for those who like to go all out, decks that even include both. Medusa is a great fit in any deck at all so expect to feel the gorgon’s rage this week.
As for Zerrofel, Yōkai have their chance to get sneaky now and cards like Oni which relies on your opponent playing Grimbald will be especially good to keep on side. Recruiting Shinigami to assist whenever you’re losing is also something to keep in mind.
And, last but certainly not least, get ready to get possessed as Hauntings steps to the forefront. Cards like El Silbon and The Bell Witch make for a devastating combo and Lady Howard of Okehampton Castle is wonderful if you’ve stocked up on lower rarity cards too. La Llorona can also show how nasty she is, particularly if you draw her on the same turn as you plan to play an El Silbon/The Bell Witch combo. Get ready to throw your head back and let loose a maniacal laugh.
Mana Management:
Now, it’s going to be incredibly tempting to go for big cards and play them all in early rounds. But don’t count all your wyverns before they’ve hatched. Getting 0 Mana per Turn will eat through your pool quicker than you think so be careful!
Pack some handy Mana-saviours that don’t necessarily hit the Alliance bonuses like Fenrir, who fits nicely into any deck, even without him gaining any arena bonus this week.
If you’re feeling a bit devious though, the Rare cards found in Hauntings can be wonderfully wicked this week, as they will increase the Mana cost of certain Alliances for your opponent. Just be wary of those trying to turn that same trick on you. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Best of luck and see you on the battlefield!
