Horde: Cryptozoology
First spotted by European colonists in Kenya, the Nandi Bear gets its name from the Nandi people who lived in Western Kenya. It has been suggested that initial sightings of the Nandi Bear were simply hyenas or even a baboon. Certainly, this is plausible as Europeans would not have been familiar with these cackling mammals. However, subsequent reports describe a creature which has a sloped back and is covered in reddish fur. The locals tell tales of the creature being prone to scalping people with its long claws.
But if it really was just a hyena… why do the stories still talk about the claws? Join us in our official Discord server to discuss!
