Balance Patch: Affliction

Greetings, Champions,

Affliction has been a strong presence in the meta for a while, and while we want to maintain its core playstyle, we're making some adjustments. Today, we're slightly toning down its power to encourage better balance while ensuring it remains fun to play.

Wretched Mortals

Countess Elizabeth Báthory

Original:

  • On Play, this card leeches -6 Attack from each of your opponent's cards in hand permanently.

New:

  • On Play, your opponent’s cards in hand lose -6 Attack this turn, and this card keeps it all permanently.

Plague Doctors

Original:

  • On Draw, your opponent’s cards in hand cost +1 Mana until played, and lose -14 Attack permanently.

New:

  • On Draw, your opponent’s cards in hand cost +1 Mana for two turns, and lose -12 Attack permanently.

Latin American

Yacumama

Original:

  • On Return, the card opposite loses -25 Attack until played, and an additional -10 Attack permanently.

New:

  • On Return, if played opposite any non-Synnig card, that card loses -25 Attack until played, and an additional -10 Attack permanently.

Boitatá

Original:

  • On Draw, your opponent’s cards in hand lose -25 Attack until played.

New:

  • On Draw, for every Synnig card in your deck, your opponent’s cards in hand lose -3 Attack until played.

Germanic

Tatzelwurm

Original:

  • On Play, your opponent's Rare and Epic cards, wherever they are, lose -10 Attack permanently.

New:

  • On Play, when played in the left slot, your opponent's Rare cards, wherever they are, lose -10 Attack permanently.

Original:
